For this upper Nob Hill hike, a visit to the Priest stairway. It’s on Washington between Leavenworth and Jones and on the cable car line.
Last visit the railings were wood and a tad rickety. Now there are new rails.
Still 56 steps to a dead-end walkway.

Anyone familiar with a very old book, maybe the first of its kind, “San Francisco at your Feet” by Margot Patterson Doss?
Used to have this book years ago and think this was where I read that Priest used to have a gorgeous view east. But then it was blocked by a newer building. This is to the left in the pix.

Reed, next door to Priest, is also a dead-end but has some sidewalk steps on the right side: 15, 16
Washington St.: 17
Leroy Pl. is off Sacramento and is a dead-end on both sides. The north side has a huge tank at its dead-end. Between Leavenworth and Jones.
