… and butterflies! Saw a couple of large ones and a butterfly infosign:  36 thru 46

Back down again to do the three stairways down from the top of the falls.

The main green-railed stairs with Huntington Falls alongside:  47 thru 64

Partway along the main steps, another stairway curves to the right down to the foot of the falls:  65 thru 68

Huntington Falls from the foot:  69 thru 73

Round to the nortthside and the newer bridge, another stairway, this one an older wood beauty with a bench partway down:  74 thru 80

Across the newer bridge, along the road to the boathouse:  81 thru 90

Circling round to my starting point and onto the #28 bus, a gorgeous green ride:  91 thru 107

Finding Fennel

4/3/2019

I enjoy adding the newest leaves of wild fennel to homemade smoothies, but was unable to find any at a couple of places I used to go for them at Land’s End and the Presidio. So tried one of my favorite spots for this at Buena Vista Park and was successful.

Buena Vista is a tall, wide, forested park with trails that are paved, steps, and dirt. Its north side rises above Haight St. near Central.

Up to the summit:  1 thru 9

Summit stone steps and openspace:  10 thru 14

Just to the west of the summit lawn was one of the fennel forests and logs on which to sit and have lunch:  15 thru 21

Moving west:  22 thru 28

The south side’s main stairway is newer with 171 steps and low walkway walls where one can sit:  29 thru 44

Another connector stairway:  45, 46, 47

Continuing west, back to the north side again, then down to Haight:  48 thru 74

Haight St.:  75, 76, 77
