Shelley Lake

I’ve always just called it Shelley Lake but its official name is apparently “Upper Reservoir.”

South from McLaren Park’s water tower area thru the woods: 1 thru 8

The reservoir has openings in the fence so one can walk on the inside. Slick and squishy around here now: 9 thru 18

28 steps down from the lake (east): 19 thru 28

36 more stairs up along the north side to a parking lot: 29 thru 34

Between the reservoir and the parking lot, this beautiful paved walkway: 35 thru 42

Trailing above Brazil on the park’s west side:  43 thru 55

Down to Brazil and La Grande, last two

p from Brazil into McLaren Park on the west side:  First three pix

Trails both paved and dirt: 4 thru 12

The water tower and immediate area: 13 thru 32

Down a trail on the north side of the tower took me to Ina Court. There’s a dead-end sign here meant for vehicles.

West about a block will take you to the top of Ina’s 56 steps that descend to Excelsior in the neighborhood of the same name: 33 thru 42

Uphill to the top of Excelsior for 13 steps back into the park: 43, 44

There’s another short stairway here (21 steps) down to the top of Prague. Hadn’t walked this in years: 45 thru 48

I like meandering around on San Francisco's park trails and public stairways, sometimes taking photos, and enjoying nature and the outdoors.
