Winding Belgrave

For this Mount Sutro Forest hike, up Stanyan above Parnassus and past the first trailhead into Sutro Forest: 1, 2, 3.

Continuing up, sidewalk stairs on both sides of Stanyan to Belgrave: 4, 5, 6

Surprise! And not a pleasant one either. Trees felled at the Belgrave trailhead: 7 thru 10

Farther up this steep trail, however, it looked normal and lushly gorgeous, a climb well worth it: 11 thru 31

Out to Johnstone, and the trailhead for the Fairy Gates: 32, 33

East Ridge, Mystery, Historic, and North Ridge Trails this time: 35 thru 51

Views down and across of the lower trails: 52 thru 67

Stairs alongside a medical building down to a permits-only parking lot. 68

North stairs (136 steps) descend nearly to Parnassus: 69 thru 80

Moffitt: 3, 4

14 steps on the north side of Bemis and residences: 5 thru 9

Up Amatista from Benis, 92 steps: 10, 11, 12

Surprise! Construction of a building here at the minipark. THENS:  13, 14, 15. NOW: 16, 17

This little park, Fairmont Plaza, had no logs or benches on which to sit, but there was a swing:  18, 19

At the top of Amatista is Everson. Turn right when you get to Beacon.

If you didn’t know the top of Harry was on the east side of Beacon, you’d be likely to pass it by, thinking the narrow wood stairs led to someone’s home.

Harry from Beacon down to Laidley in the Glen Park neighborhood, 239 steps: 20 thru 47

At the top of the south dead-end of Noe, just starting dow from Laidley, another construction site. This is where a little brown-shingled house was demolished. THENS:  48, 49, 50. NOW: 51

Continuing down this steep part of Noe to 30th in Noe Valley: 52 thru 57.
