The stumps of two recently murdered trees on Mount Sutro’s Mystery Trail have been carved into a tree-sculpture (first two pix) and a chair (pix 3, 4). So who’s the Mystery artist(s)?
Grateful to be spared from the depressing vandalism of the treekillers while on the lower Historic Trail, the second trail down from the top of Stanyan. 16 steps for the Stanyan trailhead.
About halfway along noticed that a rough trail down from Belgrave, where it connects with the lower Historic, has been cleared somewhat. Might they be thinking of acknowledging this old trail that offshoots to the north off the main Belgrave trail above/behind Stanyan homes? Pix 5, 6, 7

A few blocks to the north on Edgewood Ave. (pic 42) from the end of the Edgewood Trail will take you to the top of the 149 Farnsworth steps that descend to Willard: Last five pix.
