Started out at the bridgeview area to pass by the two new Coastal Trail overlooks under construction.
Habitat restoration work continues along the Batteries to Bluffs Trail (474 steps counted today). A few fotos of the longer, top railing below.
Since I was gonna head back towards Fort Scott after exiting at Battery Crosby, took the alternative trail shortcut that climbs up from the east side of the battery. Looked like I could get through okay now.
The same zigzag fence is still here, and the tree roots I was used to stepping over, plus a lot of added pine cones from the felled trees.
Along the hillside here are more of those erosion control straw wattles. Lost the trail near the top but easily scrambled up to Lincoln to climb over the auto barrier.
Between here and Fort Scott, found it to be still a bit dangerous for walkers in one small area, but already improvements are obvious for the safety of both hikers and bikers along this part of curvy Lincoln.
