Out at the main Dalewood park entrance from the #36 Teresita bus stop, especially like this way up as it's a nice climb and soon there’s a vast view to the right. First four pix.

Up the stairs (pix 5, 6, 7) to admire the view from the openspace  (8, 9), and over to the lush forest trails: 10 thru 20.

Some trails not hiked in a while: 21, 22, 23, 24.

There are 40-something stone steps between homes out to Rockdale near Chaves: 25 thru 28. This trailhead can be seen on Google Maps.

Over to the Juanita trailhead (pic 29) and the brick stairs (36 or so) down to the street: last three pix.

Another great collection Tony! I hung out in these woods as a kid on a regular basis. All the way up we would hike from Jules Ave and Ocean blvd. the top where the cross is is really nice. I believe the nuns used to have Mass up there at certain times of the year. It was a long time ago. late fifties and early sixties. Explorers we were. Take me back...

Thanx for the comments. This has nothing whatsoever to do with religion on my part but I wish that cross could be lit up every night. It's such a unique and beautiful icon up there.

Rec'd my "SF Stairways book yesterday. Purchased one for my brother too. Love it and the colorful photos at the beginning are stunning as well.

I like meandering around on San Francisco's park trails and public stairways, sometimes taking photos, and enjoying nature and the outdoors.
