Down the connecting trail (about 88 steps: third pic) from the El Camino to the main Lands End/Coastal Trail and east to the Painted Rock steps (66 to the first stone bench along the stairway; 102 to the second). About 138 steps for the Painted Rock (Coastal Trail) stairway to the top (fourth pic), where approximately 116 more steps descend on the east side: some wood, some concrete.
Just after starting down, stepped over the fence and up a minor trail to the north edge of the golf course. No hassles from golfers this time; stayed as close to the edge of the golf course as I could for the few yards to the top of another off-the-main trail where I've always had luck with berries. This one's narrow, overgrown, and slidey-steep (fifth pic).
At the end climbed up a few feet from the trail to continue down the aforementioned easternmost stairway (last three pix).
Up five steps and out to the east trailhead for the park to cross over to a trail that's just below the east edge of the Lincoln Park golf course. Continued to the wide stairway with the tiled bench/wall at the top (52 steps) that descends to the west end of California St. at 32nd Ave. in the Outer Richmond.
