The 24 Divisadero bus that normally runs the length of Cortland in Bernal lHeights detoured all the way down Mission to Crescent before turning east. It was street fair day (Fiesta on the Hill).

So off at Andover and Crescent, had to walk several blocks up to Cortland.

One would think there’d be a closer street on which they could turn left that was closer than Crescent. I forgot how far I had to walk…

Crescent: 1, 2

Andover: 3 thru 9

Fiesta on the Hill (10) was from Bennington to around Folsom on Cortland; started uphill north on Folsom: 11

The Prentiss sidewalk steps rise from Powhattan: 12

Powhattan:  13

These 75 stairs ascend from Powhattan to Chapman. Called Nevada Openspace on Google Maps, it's not shown as a stairway: 14 thru 22

Older steps to the right are close to the homes on this side: 23, 24, 25

Steeply up to the west end of Mayflower on Nevada: 26

Mayflower  is still a dirt road here just below Bernal Heights Blvd.: 27 thru 32

Up 28 steps from Mayflower to Bernal Heights Blvd.: 33, 34, 35

Top of Prentiss at Bernal Height  Blvd.: 36 thru 39

Noticed the Bernal Heights fenced-in Community Garden gate off the Blvd. was unlocked and open so entered for a short bench-sit at the top of the tiered garden: 40 thru 49

But then someone working below me in the garden exited and locked the gate with me inside.

Down to a lower level, saw a gate on the west side. Fortunately it wasn’t locked but had to scramble up the slope to the Blvd.

The Eye is still here on Bernal Heights Blvd.: 50

More stairs down from the Blvd. Top of Gates:  51

Bernal Heights Blvd.: 52, 53

Moultrie is a through trail, part stairs, down to Powhattan: 54

Bernal Heights Park has its own Labyrinth: 55, 56

The next stairway (top of Andover) also descends from the south edge of the park to Powhattan. You might look at it and think the stairs only lead to a home or homes, but it’s through and shown on Google Maps. Now it's more overgrown than I’ve ever seen it, however. It zigs with a very short dirt trail, then the steps continue: 57 thru 73

Powhattan: 74

Andover continuing down to Cortland: 75 thru 86

Since I didn’t know which street the bus would be using on its journey west out to Mission, just walked all the way down Cortland to the 30th & Mission stop: 87 thru 99

I like meandering around on San Francisco's park trails and public stairways, sometimes taking photos, and enjoying nature and the outdoors.
