The Presidio’s lower Battery East Trail is walkable again. Its curvy walkway has been repaved, there’s new fencing along its length, and three new viewbenches have been added.
It reopened just in time for the Blue Angels. At these times the whole area is packed. Don’t even think of trying to take the #28 bridge bus from either of the two stops up here unless you’re used to taking Japanese commuter trains during rush hour.
The Battery East Overlook, however, does have a small parking lot next to it.
