Rocky Trails to Youuuu: Mount Davidson Park

Mount Davidson Park’s rocky lower openspace trails (a view from here, first pic) are dusty and dry now. Appreciated a pleasant grass-and-wildflowers aroma as I made my way up to the summit and the two newer wood stairways (next two fotos) and the viewbench.

The south trailhead where the #36 Teresita bus stops is so very convenient; this time only waited a couple minutes for the #36 after exiting the park here. (Oh what I wouldn’t give for a bus to take me right up to San Bruno Mountain’s Crocker trailhead like that…)

Teresita took me back down, winding around on the curvy, narrow streets in the Miraloma Park ‘hood, after I’d zigged up through the forest from the Juanita & Marne #43 stop. The #36 stops at the Forest Hill Metro Station as does the #43.

Hadn’t come out of the park at this particular south trailhead (at Dalewood/Lansdale and Myra/Sherwood) in a while, and today discovered a new stairway at this trailhead: about eight steps, wide and wooden.

Especially savor the stretch of trail coming out of the forest into the openspace, around the north edge with the glorious view. Wish this park would follow the examples of Mount Sutro, San Bruno Mountain Park, Lands End, and the Presidio and give us some trail markers. The trails do have names, so why not post them?

I like meandering around on San Francisco's park trails and public stairways, sometimes taking photos, and enjoying nature and the outdoors.
